How it started
QuizAcademy was founded on 15 March 2015 by people from the University of Potsdam and the Hasso Plattner Institute. The founders, Martin Lorenz (a graduate of the Hasso Plattner Institute) and Robert Etzdorf (a graduate of the University of Potsdam), set out to create learning software that is independent, honest and privacy-friendly.
Today our team of nine – the people behind QuizAcademy – keeps developing the software. Thanks to public funding and our own resources, we have not needed external investors so far. That means we decide how the product evolves – and what happens to your data.
QuizAcademy is an alternative to Kahoot, Quizlet and Mentimeter: no advertising, servers in Frankfurt and support from real people.
Sustainable and enjoyable teaching and learning. QuizAcademy is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also about enjoying learning.
Creating a pleasant learning atmosphere in which learning is also fun. We believe that interactive, playful learning experiences help to teach and reinforce knowledge.
