Can I use QuizAcademy for free?
Yes. You sign up for free and without a credit card. With free access, you create 2 courses, 5 live events and 5 exams and run them with up to 10 participants. Participants do not need an account with QuizAcademy.
Can I upgrade at any time?
Yes. You can start for free and upgrade to the Standard licence at any time, as soon as you need more courses, live events, exams or participants. You only pay once you book a licence, either as a monthly or an annual subscription. Organisations can choose a multi-licence.
How much does QuizAcademy cost?
The Standard single licence costs €14.99 per month billed annually (€179.99 per year) excl. VAT. With a monthly subscription, you pay €49.99 per month excl. VAT. Schools get a 75 % discount (€3.75 per month billed annually), universities 50 % (€7.50 per month billed annually), each excl. VAT.
What notice periods apply to monthly and annual licences?
You can cancel a monthly subscription up to the day before it renews, and an annual subscription at least 4 weeks before it ends. You cancel your single licence yourself in your profile in the CMS, bottom left, under “Subscription”. Example monthly: if your subscription renews on the 15th, you cancel by the 14th. Example annual: if your subscription ends on 31 December, you cancel by 3 December. Multi-licences run annually and can also be cancelled at least 4 weeks before they end. After cancelling, all content and accounts are kept, and the limits of the free plan apply again.
Who needs a licence?
Only teachers who create content need an account. You need a licence if you want more than 10 participants in a live event or exam or want to create more content than the free plan allows. Participants use QuizAcademy for free and without an account.
Which licence models are there for organisations?
QuizAcademy offers two multi-licence models: pay per account, where you only pay for teachers who actively use it, and the campus or school licence, where all teachers in your organisation are licensed at a flat rate. Volume and organisation discounts are available on request.
Can I pay by invoice?
Yes. Via “Order by invoice” you request a quote, if you like with the invoice addressed to your employer. For monthly billing by invoice, we charge a handling fee of €25 excl. VAT. If you book directly in the platform, there is no fee.
How do I get the education discount?
Use “Request discount” to send us your work email address at the school or university or upload proof. We usually activate the discount within an hour. The discount also applies to multi-licences.
Can I fund QuizAcademy through grants?
Yes, that is possible, for example through public funding programmes for digital education. Talk to us – we prepare a quote for you and provide the documents you need for your application.
Is QuizAcademy GDPR compliant and where is the data stored?
Yes. QuizAcademy runs in the AWS Frankfurt region. For companies, schools and public authorities, a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR with technical and organisational measures is available, and there is an external data protection officer. Learners do not need an account: in courses they learn anonymously, in live events and exams they use a username that can be anonymous. Please have the documents checked by your data protection officer for your specific situation.
