Flashcards for training and teaching

Create flashcards for your learners

Create digital flashcards for your group: learners flip the cards, rate their own knowledge and revise wherever they are. You see how often your group has studied each deck.

Why trainers use QuizAcademy as their flashcard maker

You create the cards once, and your learners can revise them any time, on any device.

  • Revise anywhere

Learners study on their phone, tablet or computer. They join the course by email, link, QR code or PIN.

  • Rate your own knowledge

Learners flip the card and check their answer. If they know it, they give a thumbs up, otherwise the card comes back.

  • Images, videos and explanations

Add images, videos, explanations and links to the front or back of each card.

  • Flashcards from your files with AI

The content assistant creates flashcards from your documents. You review everything before it goes live.

What digital flashcards look like

Revise at your own pace, rate your knowledge, review the group’s activity: click through the three steps. The preview is in German, the platform is also available in English.

How to create flashcards in four steps

In QuizAcademy, you create flashcards in the CMS, the browser interface for teachers, group them into decks and share them in a course. Keep the front short – one term, question or keyword per card – and use bullet points on the back.

  • 1. Create cards: Write flashcards in the CMS, generate them with AI from your files or import them, then sort them into decks.
  • 2. Share: Share the course by email, link, QR code or PIN. Learners do not need an account.
  • 3. Revise: Learners flip the cards, rate their knowledge and practise as often as they like.
  • 4. Review: The statistics show how often your group studied each deck and which cards are difficult. Individual learners stay anonymous.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create flashcards online?

With QuizAcademy, you create flashcards in the CMS: write a term, question or keyword on the front and the answer on the back. You group the cards into decks, add them to a course and share it with your learners by email, link, QR code or PIN. Learners can start revising straight away, without an account.

Which flashcard maker is right for teachers and trainers?

A flashcard maker for teaching needs more than card design: you share the cards with a group and see how the group revises. QuizAcademy is a flashcard maker for teachers, trainers and organisations. You create flashcards in the CMS, with AI from your documents or by import, share the course by link, QR code or PIN and see the statistics of the group. Learners do not need an account.

Can I create flashcards from my own documents?

Yes. QuizAcademy’s content assistant creates flashcards from your PDF, Word or PowerPoint files, which you then import. You review and edit every card before your learners see it. Alternatively, you write the cards directly in the CMS and add images, videos, explanations and links.

How do learners study with the flashcards?

In QuizAcademy, learners open the course and flip each card to check their answer. If they know it, they give a thumbs up, otherwise the card comes back later. In the learning app, learning sessions and a learning plan offer extra ways to revise, and courses can be studied offline. It works on phones, tablets and computers.

Do learners need an account?

No. In QuizAcademy, learners study courses anonymously, without an account or username, and always for free. Their own progress is stored on their device in the learning app. In the web version, progress is not saved between sessions. This keeps personal data to a minimum, which helps with data protection reviews.

What do I see as a trainer?

QuizAcademy shows you how often your group studied each deck and which cards cause the most mistakes, over a period you choose. You can download the statistics as an Excel file. You do not see individual learners: the statistics always refer to the whole group, so learners can revise without being assessed.

I only want to revise for myself. Is QuizAcademy right for me?

QuizAcademy is built for teachers, trainers and organisations who create flashcards for a group. If you want to revise for a professional exam yourself, take a look at the QuizAcademy learning apps, for example for PRINCE2 or CompTIA Security+, which come with ready-made content. You can find them on the QuizAcademy start page.

Are the flashcards GDPR compliant?

Yes. QuizAcademy is a GDPR-compliant platform from Germany and runs in the AWS Frankfurt region. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included, and an external data protection officer is your contact for questions. Learners study courses without an account, so you collect no personal data for revision.

How is QuizAcademy different from Quizlet for flashcards?

Both offer digital flashcards. QuizAcademy stores data in the AWS Frankfurt region, while Quizlet, Inc. is based in the USA and stores data there. Quizlet shows class progress with Quizlet Plus for teachers and describes itself as not intended to be an assessment tool. QuizAcademy combines flashcards with quizzes, surveys and exams with certificates on one platform.
